Guigsy

Drummer
1991-1999

Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan was born May 9, 1971 in Manchester. He was an original member of Oasis, playing with the band from 1991-1999. Originally, Guigsy was a promising footballer. However, he tore a knee ligament when he was 16, and his dreams of playing football were shattered. Guigsy was the bassist for the band “the Rain”, a band that would later be renamed “Oasis”. When the lead singer of “The Rain” quit, it was Guigsy who invited Liam Gallagher to join. Guigsy left the band momentarily in 1995 and returned later in the year, the same day “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” was released. Guigsy quit the band in 1999, shorty after Bonehead, claiming he wanted to spend more time with his family.
