Alan White

Drummer
1995-2004

Alan White was born on May 26 1972 in Eltham, South London. He joined Oasis in 1995, replacing the former drummer, Tony McCarroll. The day after White joined the band, he performed the song “Some Might Say” on national TV. White got along really well with the band, especially Liam. The pair was often referred to as “Bert and Ernie”. Despite their friendship, they got into a fight in a German Bar. Liam lost some front teeth and was arrested. Alan was released and had to have a brain scan after suffering minor head injuries. Not only was Alan White an important member of the band as a drummer, he was also influential in the recording process. White left the band in 2004 reportedly due to problems with his personal life. Unlike the other members that had left Oasis in the past, Noel Gallagher speaks highly of Alan White, referring to him as “one of the best drummer’s [he's] ever met in [his] life”. Alan White was replaced by Zak Starkey, Ringo Starr’s son. Starkey plays the drums for the band periodically.
